What they cannot do.
- Taking out the names does not always make a person anonymous. A rare condition, a date and a town can still point to one patient.
- Your employer’s rules on AI come first. These tools make mistakes less likely. They do not make anything allowed that was not allowed before.
- Handwriting in a scan cannot be read. A name written by hand is invisible to What Not to Paste into AI and to Hide Names from AI, so read scans yourself.
- Photos carry more than a location. Faces, tattoos, wristbands and name labels stay in the picture after the hidden data is removed.
